I think I can do public speaking, but I definitely get nervous.
Quite nervous.

When I do anything in front of a group of people, my face either turns red or turns white. My hands start to shake and I can't speak properly. Embarrassing it is.

I used to get nervous, but I've done so much of it in the past year and a half that I only really get too nervous when I'm not very well prepared.

I forced myself to overcome it. Sophomore year I was the president and thus spokesperson of three clubs in our high school, a social activist groups; The GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance, which the two friends I mentioned in a different thread concieved) The Human Rights club and FTC (Free The Children, an children's right's group. ) Come to think of it, I also joined the debate club that year. So, I got lots of practice.

I'm just scared that I'll be humiliated in front of everyone.

That's not uncommon.
Most the time though, you won't humiliate yourself, unless you work yourself into a panic before you speak.

Yeah...
For speeches and stuff, I like to go second or third. Just somewhere near the beginning, because if I'm at the end, I have more time to get nervous. .________.;;

Yea. it's best to get it over with quickly. Though being the very first can be somewhat nerve-wracking as well.

Yes. First and last are most nerve-wracking. Best to be in the middle somewhere.

I had a teacher once tell me to imagine that everyone in the room was naked to keep from getting flustered over a presentation. It...um, didn't work.
